Not much is said during conventions anymore. The problem is that the nominee is decided by the time the convention takes place. The convention is no longer a place for people to decide who best represents them on the issues, it is a coronation of the designated standard bearer. Nothing but platitudes need be spoken, the contest is already over. (Please note: I did not specify republican or democrat.)
